Actually, these images are taken from items that are small enough and part of daily life. It is really about composing the shot that makes the pciture significant. What we take for granted which exists all around us can be of considerable value in a photograph as it is a matter of what I want others to see. Watches, books, etc. are not props, but things which I use in my world. But yes, occasionally I will seek out something a little different...
Regimental ties, cups of black tea, sushi, old ppb editions of Agatha Christie, a CD by Astrud Gilberto, yellowing dictionary. Patchouli oil on Sundays. Reading letters in the garden. Watching the fog roll over the Golden Gate Bridge. Bark-colored teapot.
